I bought this replica badge for a mate whose father went to Spain to fight for the Republic. He was over the moon. Really good reproduction, top quality and the usual brilliant service from Calton Books.

Beautiful Badge Mediocre Brooch
As someone with childhood memories of having met former members of the International Brigades and as a lifelong student of the Spanish Civil War, I have by now collected many of the Brigadista badges offered by Carlton Books, so this review applies to all of them, not just this one. Where the aesthetic appearance and historical authenticity of the badges is concerned, as symbolic talismans of the doomed Spanish Republic, one can't complain. The pity is that brooch attachments are rather clumsy & awkward, far too small and make it rather difficult to wear the badges, moreover the clutch back attachments (such as on the Lincoln Bat. badge) are also inadequate, I would recommend eliminating the brooch devices altogether and replacing them on all the badges with two clutch back devices. This would greatly enhance the badges from a practical standpoint.
